Christmas in New York brings about many images and memories in people’s minds. Possibly the best and most cherished part of Christmas in New York is the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Every year, the Christmas show is seen by more than a million visitors a year. With 140 performers, lavish costumes, an original musical score, special effects and the Rockettes, it’s no wonder the show has gained popularity since its inception in 1933. The holiday special began as an intermission attraction between movies; in 1979, the show was expanded into a full 90 minutes.
