Rush, a Canadian progressive rock band, gained fame through their unique instrumental use and complex compositions. The band consists of bassist, keyboardist and singer Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson as well as drummer and lyricist Neil Pearl. Using influences from reggae and blues, the band developed a unique sound that frequently included synthesizers. Throughout their existence as a rock group, they have sold 40 million albums worldwide and were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1994.
