Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson began here signing the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Now, Philadelphia holds onto that legacy with their basketball team’s name: the 76ers. The team competes at the Wachovia Center in the Atlantic division of the Eastern conference. The Philadelphia 76ers are the NBA’s oldest franchise; with that span of existence in competitive basketball, the team has earned its victories: three NBA championships, five conference wins and 11 division title wins.
