Lion King Tickets
Capitalizing on the good fortune of the Disney movie, Lion King took to the Broadway stage in 1994. The actors dress in animal costumes with hollow heads to represent the animal characters of Pride Rock. The stage is set for Simba, the young lion cub, to be presented to the community of his father, Mufasa. Simba is quickly taught the “Circle of Life” through boundaries and rules--rules that he likes to break. His uncle, Scar, is his greatest ally in mischief until Scar turns against Simba and plots Mufasa’s murder. Ashamed, Simba runs from his home in Pride Rock and begins a new life with carefree friends Timon and Pumbaa. The audience is led through this story of a runaway learning to return home through brilliant songs, costumes and acting. The Lion King won the 1998 Tony Award for Best musical.
