Before Alicia Keys even produced an album, three of her songs were on major motion picture soundtracks. Through these songs and a shuffling of recording companies, she finally released her first studio album, Songs in a Minor. This album sold 50,000 copies in its first day of sales and 250,000 copies in the first week. For the albums, Keys garnered five Grammy Awards: Best New Artist, Best Rhythm & Blues album, Best Rhythm & Blues song, Best Female Rhythm & Blues Vocal Performance and Song of the Year. Her two following albums have also helped her win six more Grammy Awards, 11 Billboard Music Awards and 14 NAACP Image Awards.
